I called these simple exercises "Cool Licks" not just because they are cool and easy to play, but because they are powerful tool to start building your soloing vocabulary and if mixed together they will definitely improve your soloing and improvisation skills.
Playing the licks over the right groove or backing track could sound impressive. Also, these should work great over major, minor and blues progressions.
These are good exercises for beginners, but also for those who want to give improvisation some new approach and flavor
These are the steps that can be a good guidance to get up to speed with them:

These are good exercises for beginners, but also for those who want to give improvisation some new approach and flavor
These are the steps that can be a good guidance to get up to speed with them:
- Learn the licks separately and repeat them five times each
- Make breaks between each lick
- Try to play 2 licks together
- After being comfortable with all of them, start mixing them together
- Add some flavor to each of the lick using these techniques: vibrato, slide from below/above, small bending, muting strings
